The Port is on the banks of the Sarine in the heart of the city of Fribourg, but has the feel of the countryside. The Port, with its restaurant, open-air cultural space and mobile, elevated gardens provides a relaxed atmosphere where innovative ideas are born and different generations get together. Workshops, conferences, and gardening sessions, as well as readings, concerts, films and photo exhibitions, invite the visitors to reflect on our consumption, our living spaces and our interactions. With the aim of promoting biodiversity in urban areas, encouraging green behavior, and rediscovering the art of healthy living close to nature, this ephemeral project of one summer invites individuals and associations that share these objectives to join in this participatory process. The Port wants the Fribourg summer to be prettier than those elsewhere!
